Our individualized assessments tap into the strengths and weaknesses of the student to answer the specific referral questions, interpret the results for parents and students, and provide useful recommendations for needed supports and interventions.
Many insurances do not require a referral for an assessment so please check with your provider.

Evaluations are completed by a Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
Gregory H. Williams, Ph.D.
Dr. Williams is a licensed Psychologist who earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The University of Connecticut. He completed his clinical internship at Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown, CT., and completed his postdoctoral residency at EASTCONN PACE Secondary Program, a therapeutic special education school program in Columbia, CT. He has been working with children and adolescents within educational settings for more than 25 years and specializes in the assessment and treatment of childhood mental health issues and their impact upon students’ functioning both at school and in the community.
- Review of background information, school records, and previous evaluations
- A clinical interview
- Completion of rating scales by parent, child and teacher/provider
- Standardized testing
- Projective assessments
Clinical Interviews and face to face testing can last from one to four hours. Evaluations can be broken into multiple sessions to accommodate the needs of the child and the family.
Because parents will need to meet with the psychologist without the child present, they will need to bring a responsible person to monitor the child while they are meeting with the psychologist or will need to schedule an additional appointment to complete that portion of the assessment at a different time.

- Most recent IEP or 504 plan
- Report cards and/or progress reports
- Disciplinary record
- Name and contact information for relevant school personnel
